Hi, I just got done with an auto to manual swap in my 84' Brat....everything pretty much fell into place, except the speedometer cable wil not reach to the manual transmission's mounting hole. The auto's speedo port is on the driver's side on he top of the case, but the manual is on the passenger's side kinda tucked twards the bottom of the case. I tried to see if there was some slack tucked away under the dash, but it looks like I'm gonna have to get one out of a manual car, and rip the dash open.

 

Any tricks?

yup, you're gonna have to change the speedo cable. I had to change mine in my RX when I went from an auto to manual swap. It wasn't really that had and in an EA81, it would probably be easier. Just a few screws and the instrument cluster will come out. then plop a new speedo cable in there and hook it all back up. Maybe 2 hours tops to do it.

Blarg-o-mouth!!! Oh well, at least I will have a bit extra for when that 4" lift gets here.
