September 13, 200619 yr OK, So Eyesore is effectively "sold". (I have a deposit) But the right front caliper is sticking really badly. Buyer knows this, but: How do I make her driveable? If I take it all apart and crank the piston back in, think it'll quit sticking for a bit? Or, I was thinking of taking the whole thing off and pinching the brake line closed... Would this work, be safe-ish to operate, cause serious harm to the brake line and/or the rest of the braking system? Or Does anyone have any suggestions? The guy is coming to pick it up Fri. I need to try and get it mobile for him. Help Please!!
September 13, 200619 yr take it apart and check things out. I would recommend highly against crimping the brake line since it will do more harm then good, then buyer might be a bit pissed. Take it apart, make sure everything is cleaned up a bit, spray some WD-40 around the caliper boot and see what happens.
September 13, 200619 yr Author I was referring to the rubber line, not the metal one. Think this would still cause permanant damage? I'll try dis-assembling it, but want to think worst case scenario, because I'm pressed for time. (and can't spend any $$$$)

(and can't spend any $$$$) Well even wthe rubber line, if pinched off, will cause some major braking problems. It'll cause it to pull very hard the other direction, thus creating a larger hazard then a sticking caliper. Just pull the caliper off, grease the slides up a it and spray some WD-40 around the piston. Should help free it up a bit...
