N00B GL Owner in Arkansas!

Featured Replies

Hey guys

My name is Zack, from Cabot, Arkansas, and I recently purchased a fairly clean 1987 Subaru GL 4WD Wagon for a local fellow. It has about 109K on the odometer, and other than the paint peel on the hood, seems in really solid shape. It is the 1.8 carb'ed version

The motor seems to be good, but there is a serious vacuum issue with it currently, because it idles horribly erratic, and hestiates badly until 2500 rpm.

If anyone has any input on that, I'd be more than appreciative!

As you can tell by my forum name, I am a car nut of the Union Jack persuasion normally. I have 5 MGB sports cars that I enjoy immensely, and thought this Subaru would be the perfect camping vehicle to go places the MG's couldn't! Haha.

Once again guys, thanks for the great forum!

Hey man. I'm in Arkansas as well. I often go up to the Ozark National Forest to go camping, and run through the many Forest Service trails they have up there. The best thing was after crossing the Mulberry River there was this guy in a lifted Ford truck who was gawking at me at the fact that I had crossed it in my 'Roo.

Know any good places to wheel in central Arkansas? I should see if there's a Subaru User's Group here.
