LPGsuperchargedBrumby
YUSS!!! My brumby now has a Carb an distributor EJ18 in it After 6 days of working on it (well 5 days of running around getting all the little bits that i needed it seemed) at about 11am today i got my newly installed EJ18 to cough into life.....after a little adjustment the timing was set to 15deg BTDC and a test lap was undertaken....it does 120KPH in 3rd...lol. i have one issue with it at the moment....the battery is being overcharged...found this out when i drove it down to my fathers workshop....we lifted the bonnet when i got down there and i happened to lean in over the battery with the motor running....and choked on the fumes coming off the battery....it was about then that i noticed the steam coming out of the battery cap vents....seems the alt i got with the motor has a crook regulator I've just modified the pulley off the EJ alt' to fit on the EA alt' so that have the same distance from the mounting face to the front of the EJ pulley on the EA alternator as it was on the EJ alt'....the mounting points measure up close enough to drop the EA alt onto the EJ mounts....so i will see exactly how close it is tomorrow morning. Pics hopefully to come when i nic' my brothers digicam
LPGsuperchargedBrumby
EA alternator bolted straight on to the EJ mounts...just had to grind the fan on the front of the EA alt as it was hitting the adjuster.
