April 4, 200817 yr Alright, I like to look at nice pictures of Gen 1's etc as much as the next guy, and its always good to have a bit of inspiration now and then too. Sooo... Be them pictures of nice gen 1's or nice (artsy I suppose I'd call them) pictures of not so nice Gen 1's. Just whatever appeals and you'd like to share. As you know, information and things can be hard to find on these cars. Any things from magasine articles or advertising from back in the day to all the rest. Think of this as the random Gen 1 pictures thread. Anything goes (with reason). As long as this is ok with the mods. I for one will be linking pics externally if that is a problem...
April 27, 200817 yr Cool pics. Tell us more about the GSR. Are there any other pics or a write up on it anywhere?
April 27, 200817 yr Author Hi Mike. There are one or two threads kicking around for the GSR. At the moment its in the process of being brought back to roadworthyness/legality. I don't know a whole lot about it to be honest, supposed to be rocking an ea63 dualcarbed 1400. Has boosted brakes with disc front end, not sure how else it varies from the usual 1400 Subaru series. Mine has been repowered with a single carbed ea71 (1600). I am looking into ea81 (1800) possible powerplants, transaxle where I'm stuck right now. Just found out the other day. It has an audible *beep* from under the dash when you exceed around 115km/h. It appears to have a bit more gadgetry than the normal ones too I think.
April 27, 200817 yr If that were my car i would look into getting the dual carb 1600 again. Just to be original. Though i cant fault you for wanting an EA81. they are good motors.
April 28, 200817 yr Author Yeah, ultimately I would like a dualcarb anything in there. I may look into custom manifolds though I'm undecided.
April 28, 200817 yr Ya know since its already got the EA71 in it why not source a dual carb EA71 intake and carbs and make it work with that?
April 28, 200817 yr Author Its a little hard to find any dualcarb manifolds overhere, but they are around. I am undecided as to which engine to go with, for now the ea71 is fine, but I have a few spare ea81's.
