97 legacy gt swap. what do i need? plz help

Featured Replies

i used to own one and i'm looking at buying a 97 non runner for 600 bucks in decent shape. what is the bare minimum that i need to swap the engine out? do i need all the accessories like ps pump, alt, intake manifold, etc. ; and where should i buy it from? i want to go jdm for sure, and also upgrade the head gaskets with performance gasket set to take care of the gasket problem. any advice is a appreciated.

So the car you are getting is a GT 2.5 and you are swapping in another 2.5 correct? If the none runner already has all the parts you listed then I would just recommend 100,000 mile tune up items.

I would take the alternator to Autozone or the like and have them test it to be on the safe side. *Free*

Water pump, thermostat, Head Gaskets, Intake manifold gaskets, exhaust gaskets, Plugs, Wires, Oil filter, Oil, Clutch alignment tool (If it is a manual and are switching over the clutch or putting a new one on), Antifreeze, Fuel Filter.

If I missed anything feel free to chime in.

Depends on where you get the stuff. I would guess between $200-$400 for everything. That is about what I spent.
