I remember reading something a while back that you can pull your front axles and run it in 4wd. Is this true? I would rather just replace them, but I don't have the cash on hand to do that right now.

I did this with my '78 Brat for 3 months. You need to only remove one axle and break it apart at the CV joint so you still have the stub that runs through the bearing and hub to keep the wheel on.
