From what I understand it's a pretty long and hard process to get a good sponsor, and a lot of work. There's also the 'skills to pay the bills' factor involved.

What type of racing are you planning on entering in to? Subiegal, a frequent poster here is also an excellent rally driver/codriver and has several sponsors (last time I checked). If she's around and you provide more details about your situation I'm sure some of your questions could get answered.

Very rarely will you get sponsered right off the bat. You will need at least one or two seasons under your belt and actually have some results to show to the companies you're looking to have sponser you to say that you can win, and show their product off.

What race/competition do you want to get sponsered for?

Other option is to try and find a team that is already sponsered and join them.

there are several levels to sponsorship.

get racing get some results first...

have something to sell the sponsor...
something to offer them...

how can you help them?
what good does it do them to sponsor you?
what can you do for them?
what are the benefits?

at first... be content with discounts and parts sponsors.
this is the first step..... and none of it comes easy.
there is a lot of hard work involved!
