cfw3
I need to replace a rear cv halfshaft in my 96 legacy because it has a torn rubber boot. I have a couple questions though...how do I get the axle out of the differental??? Does it just pull out or is there an internal c clip within the diff? ALso, is it ok if I gently pound the axle out of the hub? You guys have been a great help before. Thanks again CW
ShawnW
Theres a retainer pin that you punch out with a 3/16" punch and hammer. One on each end of the axle. Then you slide the axle off the stub of the differential and the stub on the outer end. No internal parts in the differential need removed.
