Front strut adjustment...how do I?

How are the front struts adjusted for ride hieght? I see the two plates, the big nut and the stud with the roll pin in it. I soaked it in WD40 for about a half hour then tried to turn the stud with the roll pin, the roll pin promptly broke. Do I need to relieve the spring tension? Or, am I turning the wrong part?

There is a bolt that is on that stud, it is under the spring plate and you need to adjust that nut. THere are actually 2, one on each side of the strut and you need to adjust them both.

I will have an article up on the USRM soon regarding this. Have the pictures waiting.

Your doing it right.:D

I fooled with mine the other night and was able to adjust one side half way down before running out of time.

I WD40'd then moved the bolt back and forth many times before resetting my wrench. It took some time but it seemed as though any other approach would brake them.

I think I was just grinding up the crud off the bolt by doing it that way.

Took a lot of time and WD40, but no broken bolts yet:rolleyes:

Good luck,

Glenn
