jtboettger
New to the group and looking for some help. My 95 Legacy is now leaking coolant to the point I notice a green puddle under the center of the engine (maybe 10 inches diameter - even leaks when cold). I say that because it may have been leaking for sometime but not enough to notice. I was changing the oil this weekend and could not find the source, checked hoses, clamps, radiator and what I thought was the water pump (may have been thermostat) on the bottom front of the engine and all were dry. The source seemed to be somewhere above the cross brace just about at the center of the engine. I've read about the post 97 HG issues but it doesn't seem to be the case here as there's no over heating. Where's the water pump? and are there any other likely causes before I dive into a HG replacement? Thanks a pile!
bearbalu
Follow the lower radiator hose - it ends in the waterpump housing in which thermostat is placed. Might want to check the engine cooland drain plugs (the ones that require a hex key) and check heater hoses.
