mpecarov
Hello, I am new to this forum and hoping that I can get some advice or questions answered about my 99 Forester. I took my car in to my mechanic due to a whining noise coming from the rear of the car. My mechanic looked into it and said that the pinion bearings are going out and need to be replaced. I have over 105K miles on the car and was wondering if it is time to sell it. Has anyone else had any problems with their Forester or any Subaru having pinion bearing problems? Also, my Forester goes through oil like there is no tomorrow. I had one mechanic tell me that Subaru engines are famous for going through oil. Any information is appreciated. Thanks, mpecarov
