Does anyone know if the 96 legacy LSi came equipped with an immobilizer key, this could be the cause of my starting problems, if some one knows please fill me in Thanks.

I don't think it came with one from the factory, however the dealer could have isntalled one, or a previous owner.

"immobilizer" keys, where the key or key head contains a code chip that's read by the ignition lock, were not used by Subaru back then. Describe your starting problem......
