I am thinking of buying a second Sube for the wife. Looking at a Forester XT. Questions:

What's involved in upgrading the keylee entry to a security system? (can't see paying the stealer serious cash to reprogram the keyless entry)

Also any comments on X vs XS? Should I wait for the XT?

Any gotchas on this car?

If you want the power, go with the XT. that'd be my suggestion. They are out there already :)

Look through this,

www.subaru-parts.com/_ins...System.pdf

I installed a keyless system that was supposed to already be on my Forester and it wasn't bad at all!:P

Took more time to find the plug than to install:D

The security install seems a little more involved and you must have the standard keyless first

Hope this helps,
Glenn

I installed one on my Forester XT over the weekend. Took about two hours with simple tools. You need the Subaru keyless system installed first. Most new cars on the lot have the keyless system already installed.
