I took a test drive in a '90 legacy had a slight vibration, thought tire balance, took alook under hood noticed the damper pully off crank moving around. Is this a common problem in these cars? is the crank loose or most likely the hormonic balancer rubber coming unglued? Any experiance with this would be appreciated.:D

It was probably not torqued properly. If you're looking at buying it, I would make them fix it. Take it off, make sure it's torqued good and crank is good too.

I had one go bad on my 91 Legacy around 170K miles. They will go bad in nearly no time if the bolt came loose.

Replace both the pulley and the bolt if that is what is going on. If the pulley begins to spin on the bolt, both will be worn.

Nick
