Guest 1 Lucky Texan
I have an '03 OBW H6 3.0 . There is a small plunger/spring-loaded cover dealie to the upper right of the gear shifting 'gate' area. What is it? Some kind of bayonet mount for something? Some kinda' trannie control button? Carl 1 Lucky Texan
Guest Commuter
I don't know the inside of these cars.. but there is usually a spot to shove your key in in case one needs to override the shift interlock. Perhaps that is it? Location sounds about right. Or... If you have a VDC, there is a defeat switch somewhere... I'm sure someone will know. Check the manual! Guest 1 Lucky Texan
Um - actually I was wrong about the 'spring loaded part - that was on a different vehicle we were test driving before we settled on the OBW. Still, this car has a small friction fit cover in the place described. Probably is some kinda' override thingy - will look in manual soon. thanx Carl 1 Lucky Texan
Guest 1 Lucky Texan
Yeah - shifter lock override - but you use a screwdriver to push down on a release - looks like a key may not be long enough. its in the manual - DUH! - I finally looked - though the index is crappy - you kinda have to flip around a lot to find stuff.
