  1. hey, Sorry, it was the fuel pump fuse in the main box under the hood. ITs the green 30 amp. There are 2 i believe for the pump, which are side by side with each other. Only the one blew.
  2. Hey guys, Well, i just acquired a 96 subie outback for free! She needed a motor swap so in went a low mileage 2.5 DOHC motor. The car ran great for 5 days and didnt miss a beat. One day i was driving her and out of no where, she cuts out. I tried to start it but nothing. Towed it home. Checked for fuel pump prime but didnt hear anything. Turns out the 30amp fuse in the main fuse box was blown. Changed it. nothing. So i tried a new fuel pump. Nothing. The next day, i tried to turn her over and pop...i blew the fuse again. I replaced the fuse, replaced the new fuel pump with the old, and tried it. Nothing...but it did prime the pump, just wouldnt comtinue to pump. I let the car sit, unplugged all the engine harnesses and cleaned them with contact cleaner and vrooom! she started. WTH? I drove her around for 2 days with no issue. Then one morning i came out , started her up...the idle went high for a second then it cut out again and wouldnt restart. I blew the fuse again. Now at this point, whenever i put a new fuse in, it blows. I let the car sit for 3 days and came out and tried it again. Now, the fuse didnt pop, but i wasnt getting fuel prime or spark either! This is driving me nuts cause its not consistant to track with things changing day to day. I ve traced the pump wires and they all look good. Changed the pump relay several times...no change. changed 5 different pumps..nothing. Ignition switch too...nothing. Is the ECU a common issue with these cars? It just seems that these components arent getting proper signal to energize at the right time. I ve also changed the crank and cam sensors too..... Ignition relay? But if this didnt work, the car wouldnt even turn over... Help guys, this is my first post here as a true subie member...hope theres some ideas! thanks in advance!
