  1. Thank you, I will be trying to get to as many meets as I can, especially after I get something modded out:)
  2. First I would like to say everyone here is pretty nice and everyone seems to want to help out, I was suprised to find out there are this many people who are into subaru's, I recently purchased my first Subie(88 gl wagon) and unfortunately I cracked the heads pretty badly shortly thereafter. So what do I do? I buy another Subie! This one is an 83 GL wagon that could use some love, there is alot of rust(seems common, lol) and some other minor issues. What I would like to do is keep this car going until I can finish the repairs on my 88 GL. After I get the 88 back on the road, I plan on making the 83 my beat it up mudwagon. Thats where you guys come in. I am not only new to Subies I am also an inexperienced hack when it comes to car repair. So I hope all of you guys will bear with me and show some patience with my ignorant questions, and anyone living in western nc or southern va that would like to lend a hand is welcome to pm me. BTW anyone got a fuel filler pipe/tube (and possibly a gas tank) laying around? Thanks in advance:)
  3. Subies are very addictive, I have owned my first one for less than 2months and I just bought my second Subie today 83 Gl Wagon I like it..although it is a totally rust bucket.
  4. New to the Subie thing but I will try to make it. I have an 88 Gl and 83 Wagon, the 88 will probably still be in the shop, so I guess I can play with the 83 not sure of its capabilities just bought it today, lol.
  5. So is it to be assumed that all i need is headgasket? Or is it more likely that I need new heads? Thanks all for your answers-car is going to the shop Wed. I hope.
  6. Well Lol, I cant even get the car to stay running, so and the way my luck goes I am guessing its the head.
  7. Sparta is in Western North Carolina Approximately an hour west of Winston Salem.
  8. Ok update on the situation The mystery liquid is water and oil mix i think, because the oil also has water in it. So that leaves me to think I have cracked the head or if I am lucky could I just need a head gasket? Also the car is fuel injected(I think that was asked)
  9. NC isnt that bad, besides there are tons of subaru owners here
  10. I noticed my subaru had started running hot (not totally overheating) just running real hot. I had the radiator flushed (the car has 338k miles on it, figured it couldnt hurt) and was planning on getting a new thermostat for it. As I was coming home it started to overheat, loss some power and stalled out. It would crank again but only idle very low and occasionally it would just cut out and die. If you try to give it gas it dies. Checked the air filter that I had replaced same day as the radiator flush and it was wet, the fluid is dirty gunky mess. Suggestions? Love my soob help me out!
