97 Leg. OB I bought last year had a busted button too. 5spd and I'm with you on the mental stability. I bought my new parking brake assembly from subaru for around $60 and put it in fairly easily. You may find one cheaper on ebay or 1stsubaruparts.com but it's an easy fix.
somebody buy my OB, please!
p
How easy is this easy fix??? Thanks

Thanks, I know there is a recall out on the Alternator - per direct contact from Subaru, but was not aware of these little parts.
Might you know where I can find out about other recalls on the 95 model (Other than the front end coil spring protectors and some tow hooks).

Thanks, for the help. I should not have a problem finding the parts. Saw where the crank sensor is located - easy to get at.
Even though I live in Long Island I have been (for over 30 years) a Maple Leaf fan, but always get to cheer on Montreal as they have made it to the Cup Finals a lot more. And I still play the game (goalie) wearing a 28 year old fibreglass mask I made !!! Played last night against a bunch of mid twenty year olds lost 5-1.
I'll keep you posted on the car situation in a few weeks after a business trip - thanks again

Thanks Frag, The temp sensor you describe must be the other thing under the manifold but above the engine. It sure does not look like it is easy to get at, at all. That thing had the items you noted, tubes and stuff like that.
Maybe the thing I thought was the sensor is the heating tempature guage connection. It just had one wire coming out the top and then had a "bolt type" look to it to take a rachet and screw it out.
Off to look for the crank sensor when I get home!!!
Thanks again, and I trust you are a Canadians Fan!

The check engine light came on but then went off after a few days (awhile ago) the second time this non start problem happened. Right now it is on, since this last issued just happened sunday.
Regarding the cam and crank sensors - are these two different sensors? I was able to locate the camshaft sensor, but did not know a crank sensor exists.
As far as the coolant sensor - the book I have did not really show a good picture of it, only where it is located. Might any one know if it is similar in looks to an oil sensor that just screws into the engine. I believe I see this type of unit and it faces up in the engine just tucked next to/under the left manifolds.
Thanks for any helo

On about 3 or 4 recent occasions, after driving just a few miles (under 3) my 95 legacy will turn over but not start. I tried flooring the pedal, and waiting a few minutes, with no luck. But if I wait about 10 minutes it will start up. General start up does seem to be a tad longer than before this issue started. Also last time this happened, after it started and I drove about 1 + miles it stalled at a red light when I put the car in park (waiting on a long red light) - but is started up within 2 minutes then.
Any thoughts/suggestions on this. Thanks

Thanks, but I have to negotiate my wheel chair in and out of the car, I don't need rocks as well.
