    Thanks for advice! I just went and did it. Not even a quarter turn and I even remembered not to touch the glass portion of the bulb.

    The driver's side low beam on my newly acquired 2001 Subaru Legacy Outback is out. I have the H1St (Sylvania) bulb, but have no idea on how to get at the old one to replace it. Does the front light assembly have to come off? Or can one get at the bulb from between the battery and the rear housing? thanks in advance
