  1. Thinking about the timing belt replacement on our 99 Legacy GT. Can someone recomend a good manual or site that covers this. Looks like the Haynes manual goes to 98. Will this work for the belt replacement on the 99? Also have searched past threads and it looks like you all recomend seal replacements while it is opened up. Reading the article at End Wrench about the twin cam belt replacement, it talks about the cam tool to lock the cams in place. Is this really needed to do this job? Will the cams "slip" as they say if this tool is not used when the old belt is removed? Thanks Bob
  2. Just aquired a 99 Legacy, my first Subaru while looking under the dash for the fuse panel I noticed a single wire above the gas pedal that has a green plug on both ends. This wire is unplugged , seperating the wire. I conected the plug and started the car, the check engine light flashed continuously. So I unplugged the wire. My Q is, should this wire be left un plugged or is it normally conected?
