  1. maybe, that is why we think it is a blown gasket or cracked block.
  2. Sorry, I wasn't able to put up the pic. Think Cola. I appreciate any help you can give me.
  3. Today I while I was on a short trip, my suby had a little problem. I noticed that it was running very hot, the enging temp gauge needle was nearly breaking off. So earlier my father drained some of the coolant, to see if there was any thing there that shouldn't be. So we drained it and found this (see pic). It dark orange-brownish, and smells like burnt oil. Does any one know what happened? We think that it is either a bad head gasket, or a crack in the block.
  4. If it is a 2.2, it should be the same as my wagon. The way I did it was with a "knuckled" extention on the socket wrench, I forget the exact name.
  5. '90 wgn W/ 5spd. In the summer in the city i get about 20 mpg, in the winter it is more like 17 or 18.
  6. I have noticed many of the same changes. I never took the time to measure them, but there was a difference in my 90 leagacy.
  7. hey thanks for the responces When the dealership called the just told me there was a gas leak, but not where. Is this a common problem in subys?
  8. whoops... it is a 90 leagacy wagon LS 4wd, 5 spd. sorry about that.
  9. OK, I've been away for a while, but... About five months ago, my wagon was inspected and they found a gas leak. I smelled gas every once in a while, but my all knowing dad told me to ignore it. So they fixed it. But about a week ago it started to smell like gas again, but only after it has been sitting for more than two hours, and it is cold, like less than 50F. My mileage is going down by about a mile a gallon, so i am sure it is some kind of leak. Does any one know what is going on?
