  1. I have a 99 Legacy GT, I was driving down the highway, and after about an hour of driving my speedometer and odometer plumeted straight down with no lag time. I later realized everytime I used my blinkers it would pop up and down with the blinkers. It did the same thing with the heater/ac, headlights, radio, and windshield wipers. The battery would not go past 10 Volts. I just recently had my alternator checked out (it was great) and all battery cables are tight and secure. Could it possibly be a relay, or is this a symptom of something much worse? How can I check a relay? (All fuses are good).

Thanks in advance for the help,

    Chris

  2. I have a 99GT, and I am having both of those problems. I know it doesnt sound glamourous, but I pulled my dash out, took off the contact screws where the spedo screws into the contact mat, and added a bit of contact cleaner. Also check for anything that is loose, wires etc.. Mine had something barely hanging on, I taped that up, and put it back. Worked pretty well for me. As far as the transmission, well if you dont have a 5 spd, you may consider saving up for when it drops.

  3. I am moving two amps in my car, I could swear I have everything hooked up correctly, and exactly the same way as I had it before I moved it, however when I turn the audio on, the speakers/subs hum. Furthurmore when I turn the engine on the speakers/subs wobble with the engine. I have grounded it in the exact same spot with the same wire, and my RCA/speaker wires are away from any power wires. One more thing that may help, I grounded it to three different spots to see if that was the problem when it did not solve it i put it back onto the original ground, and when I went to bolt the other grounds back up, I got a nice little shock?? Does anyone have any ideas on this. :banghead:

One more note, I took the RCA cables out of the deck, and when I cover the black RCA cable with my hand, the hum goes away.

I noticed when the amp is plugged in, all the grounds in my car have electricity running through them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  4. Hello, I have a issue with my amps. I am hooking up 2 amplifiers, one to four speakers, and the other to 2 subwoofers. The speakers are hooked up in parrallel mode, and the subs are connected in series. The RCA cables are not running along the power line, however when I turn the audio on there is a low hum across everything speakers and subs. when I turn the sound up the hum is there and the speakers/subs work... I have no idea what is causing this hum, and cannot find any information as to what it is... PLEASE HELP :)

    Thanks in advance!

  5. I have searched for a while, and I have found some people saying to replace the ignitor coil. I want to do this, but can not find one compatible for my auto. Does anyone know anything that would work for higher performance. Also are there any other high performance tips. I have headers, catback, muffler, intake, and the underdrive pully. Any other advice would be great, thank you :).

  6. My 99' Legacy has two problems I am unable to fix, and I was wondering if anyone could help.

My check engine light, and at oil temp light are flashing, when I put my car into drive or reverse its very hard to get going (I have to shift to neutral rev it up a bit, and shift back into drive) in order to get going. Sometimes during this time my engine will make a popping noise.

When I scanned it using the OBDII I recieved the codes

    MAF/VAF

    Circuit low input

--- I cleaned the old sensor (didnt work) replaced the sensor(no affect), and replaced the ECU (nothing). I think it has to do with the wires but I dont know what to look for on the multi-meter.

    Cylinder 2

    Misfire detected

--- I replaced the Ignitor coil, but I believe this is a secondary problem, and may be corrected with a new coil once the MAF sensor is fixed.

Any ideas on what to do or how to fix this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
