  1. East Coast Bullbars in Australia has some sweet brushguards. Only problem is, well, they're in Australia, but they do export the products, http://www.ecb.com.au/model/Forester.htm

We just picked up our new Forester but was surprised to see the cheap plastic "brush guard" basically just a thin plastic cover over the bumper. Does anyone know of an aftermarket company that makes a real metal brush guard for this thing. Afterall we live in the middle of deer country.
  2. No, not for daytime running use, but for use at nighttime on those dark mountain roads. I agree, the lights can be quite blinding and dangerous to others if used when others are oncoming.

They're rather easy to install, most even come with instructions. Past experiences tell me to not bother with the el cheapo ones.

But, please, please, please don't use them on the road. You'll have great visibility as the oncoming driver you've blinded with them is careening towards while he struggles to regain his sight. Personally, I think that the lights look assume and have their place on those lonely highways, late at night when there is nothing to light the road but the stars. But around town, I think they should be banned and a large fine associated with their use.

  3. How'd you install those driving lights? Are they attached to the grill or bumper? Pretty easy installation? I think it looks great! Does it decrease airflow into the engine significantly (ie, you don't heat up do you?). Thanks.

    Old school representation :) Nice!

Here is mine with the summer shoes on. Snows go on this week or next...whenever it gets cold again.
