  1. Thanks for all the responses. I will try blocking off the EGR valve and if that doesn't work, I will go from there. Thanks again!
  2. Ok. my 92 Loyal 5 spd wagon does some funny stuff. It is really slow (no power)below 2000 RPM and once it gets above 2000 RPM it feels like the power kicks in. Also, once it's warmed up the idle cycles up and down, like rrrrr, rrrrr, rrrrr, (very precise I know). I've been told it's the EGR valve. Anybody care to second this opinion? How hard is the EGR valve to change on this car? Where is it located on the engine? Can I remove/clean/reinstall the existing one? Thanks in advance for your advice. Dave
