  1. Yeah well bad news. I found out that they didnt put the 2.5 in the imprezas of that year. Not only that I blue booked it and it is worth 1000 dollars less than the selling price. I wont be getting it. I do still plan on finding one. But that car has a 1.8 as far as carfax said. Very upsetting. Like I said I dont know too much about subaru's yet so I didnt know that they didnt have the 2.5 I expected they did. But yes my idea of the perfect sleeper. (0ne day) Still lookingon ideas on bolt on power or maybe fuel/timing tricks. chris
  2. I am new to subaru's and hear a lot of people talking about ea82's and so forth. i just wanted to know how to tell what people are talking about when they say this. maybe some one could describe what 2.2 and 2.5 etc. engine numbers or cade are and describe what other people might refer to as other engines. thanks for the help in advance chris Newbie
  3. Hi i am new to usmb because if all goes well then i will have a new subaru in a few days. teal '95 2dr impreza. light weight and i heard the entire STi driveline pretty wellbolts up. if you want to give me any hints or tips i have a thread in retrofitting. also just trying to make some friends. talk to me. chris
  4. Yes this is all what i like to hear. i do plan on some hard work i hae a decent knowledge of electronics. i have a nice dvom and am thankful for the ideas on where to find out more. the current engine is a 1.8 is what im told i havent actually looked too close myself. i cant remember looking at a number under the hood. what is the quickest way to tell or does it say right on the manifold. by the way obviously non turbo. thanks for the help and look forward to more discussion on the topic. chris
  5. Yeah I went for another test drive today and might get it next week. I got to make room in our driveway. Theres 3 people here and theres already 4 vehicles so you can see the dilemma. Its a Teal 1995 2dr Impreza. Also was wondering if anyone knows of simple power adders until I start the big transformation. I am guessing a few years before i can afford to build a garage. Maybe I can find someone willing to let me start a project like this in theirs. Anyways all the help would be appreciated. chris
  6. I am looking at getting a new Subaru impreza 2dr 5sp. I am personnaly not a huge fan of Subaru YET, but I love the power of the STi and heard that besides wiring, the '03-04' Sti engine, tranny, rear eand, everything right down to the brakes pretty much bolt up. Of course there is always need for some modification in these type of projects. I attended Wyotech and took their Chassis Fabrication/High Performance Engines program which tought me everything about setting up and designing your own suspension. Back halfing a vehicle for strength or for doing the lowrider thing. Anyway im not afraid of a big project and dont plan on doing it in a weekend in my driveway. Just looking for some input from anyone who might know more on the subject. And wish me luck on purchasing my first Subaru. chris
