  1. 02 subaru with 170k kms

    Hello everyone, i have a 02 sub with 170k kms on it...wondering what anyones experience on weather or not i should change the TIMING belt on it now...or will i get a sign..?? when its time... dealer has encouradge me to do it...wondering if i should do it now .. and how much should i expect to pay for it...also do i have to change water pump while i m at it..???not much of a mechanic..understand the timing belt is NOT inside the engine...??? also would anyone recomend/not recomend changing from ""normal"" oil to synthetic at this time...or is it tooooo late in the engine's life to do it...and gain anything from it...>>>???? appreciate any comments. tks. cruz.
