  1. need help with clutch noise

    Hey all: I have a 91 legacy, 2WD, 5-speed, with 240K on the engine (EJ22). Yesterday, the clutch began making a noticable skreech/vibration while engaging - espcially 1st and 2nd (but noise is there while shifting into all gears - just less so). Just pressing the clutch pedal do not create the noise. The noise is only while the clutch is engaging, the then disappears when the clutch is completely engaged. So the squeal lasts maybe 1 full second. The clutch does not seem to slipping at all - drives normally otherwise. Do you think this is just a worn clutch? Or some other bearing noise? This is a great site - thanks for your help!
