  1. I have 98 OB. It's developed some strange noise(s) that at about 30-40 mph and over. I cannot tell if it is brakes or driveline or even wheel bearing related. It's an automatic and it seems to shift OK. I don't want to go the the local dealers. Any good independents in the area? Thanks!
  2. Yeah Concordville is where I bought it 10 years ago. Matt Slap in Newark is a possibility. But my thinking is to use a reliable independant repair shop. I am less inclined to go to a dealer for several reasons.
  3. I have a blown head gasket on my 98 OB. I believe it is in the minor stages right now. Minimal loss of coolant, no coolant odor through the vents/heater. The car runs fine and maintains correct temp. as long as the rad. is kept full with coolant. I do however, smell exhaust distinctly in the expansion tank and in the radiator when I remove the cap. I want to get the job done by an independent shop. I simply do not trust the two closest dealers. Anybody have any suggestions for the Wilmington area or nearby in PA?:-\ Thanks!
  4. If you have a chance 99obw. I am taking it in early AM tomorrow and need to make some decisions based on priority. Which would you do in order of priority and assuming I keep the car through 100,000?
  5. Thanks theotherskip and 99obw. 99obw, so how much am I looking at for that laundry list in terms of $$? Assuming 10% less then avg. dealer service cost.s? thanks!
  6. I have an oil drip from the front of the engine on my '98 OBW with 64K on it. I bought it new and have routinely changed the oil every 3-4K. I've not had any other issues with this car. My research on this board and others indicates that this oil leak is either the oil pump 'O' ring , loose backing plate for the oil pump, or cam seal or valve cover gaskets. I tend to think it is the oil pump 'O' ring. My question: What else should I replace while my mechanic is doing the oil pump O ring? Thanks!
