  1. Greetings, Well, i lost my keyless remote the other day for my 99 Forester after it had fallen off my keychain. (according to pictures and other web sites this is the Code Alarm version). I went to my Subaru dealer and purchased a replacement. However, according to them, (and they weren't too nice), they don't make the same remote, but sold me another that they said replaced my version. OK. However, when i compare it to pictures on the net, it looks exactly like the remote used for the Alpine versions. Now, when i follow the manual's directions to reprogram (open door, hold programming button for 15 seconds until the locks cycle 3 times, press lock button on remote, wait for locks to cycle another time, release programming button, turn off car, close door), things don't fall into place. What DOES happen, is that between 10 and 15 second mark of holding theprogramming button, the locks cycle TWICE. Wait, wait, wait....no third locking cycle.......Push the remote "lock" botton and the locks cycle TWICE (not once). now, after performing this operation 4 times, getting the same results, and the remote still not working, does anyone have any suggestions, besides screaming at my Subaru dealer? (been there, done that). Brian
