does having the parking brake on make a difference?
-
so my 82' wagon has a noise that is slowly getting worse and worse. It started by just making a loud rumbling noise from the front passenger side wheel area when decelerating at higher speeds this has continued to get worse as well as when i let off the gas at anyspeed above about 35mph it pulls to the passenger side. I was told it was probably the lower ball joint but when i pull on the tire there is no real play to it. I contacted the previous owner and the cv's have been recently replaced. Any other ideas or way i could diagnos it? any help is greatly appreciated, Nathan

It says it was made in december of 85' so would that be the 86' model? it also still has a ea81 i am thinking restore the body and engine and stick a 3-5" lift on her w/ some bigger tires

my 82' wagon makes a weird thumping noise as i decelerate from high speeds and vibrates, this comes from the fron passenger side as well as when i let off the gas the car pulls to the passenger side does this sound like the cv joint? anyway to check? how to replace and how tough? thanks

most of the rust that i saw that concerned me was on the bed of the truck most of it looked like it could be easily sanded off but there was one patch on the wheel well about 2x2 inches at the most but wasn't close to rusting though

well i tried throwin out 350 for it tonight and he shot me down...

i went out to the junk yard and was able to start the thing up and it ran alright but it had flat tires and car surrounding it so i wasn't able to drive it... supposubly one of the spark plug sockets is crossthreaded and there is some minor rust as well as some hail damage on the hood my ?'s are: is the crossthreaded spark plug a big deal? (it's an ea81) and how hard would it be to fix also much rust gets to be too much to mess w/ and be a total pain in the @ss? $400 still sound like a good deal?

It is up near cody there is no major rest from wat i could tell

so i have found a 85' brat in a junkyard. it is in wat i would call relatively good shape. there are some dings and dents and most of the trim is missing but the man said that it had ran when it came in. I would like to buy it and fix it up but i have a limited knowledge and background on cars at this point in time and was wondering if it would be a good learner car. also obviously it is in a junkyard so there is something wrong w/ it so wat could the worst possible scenarios be and how do i check for them? finally the guy threw out $400 dollars is that a good deal? thank nathan

What part of Montana are you in?

It has the t-top and is silver no roll bar and some of the trim is missing and the tailgate is just ok there was no major rust as far as i could tell the wheels are in pretty crappy state i will try to get some pics soon hope that helps

It doesn't seem to do it when i am turning just at a spot around 2.5-3 rpm's when i am pushing or releasing the pedal a little bit Sorry i am not that great w/ cars.. and do not know the difference between a cv and inner double offset if it helps it is only front wheel... -
I have a 82' gl and when i am accelerating or decelerating there is a knocking or clicking noise that seems to be coming from the front passenger side wheel area. Any ideas? thanks
