  1. I do and have rebuilt several. Some parts such as elec. servos have to be reused if operational, but float , gasket sets, needle and seat and o rings in the rebuild kits are OK I've had about a 2-4 mile per gal increase after a typical rebuild.
  2. First Last: The gas leak: Sounds as if you have a sunken float in the carb ( If carberated) or fuel lines were improperly disconnected. If carbed, and the cab has not been overhauled, have it done as the float and needle seat will have lived their useful life by this time. There used to be a rebuild kit from Standard Products. This is doable IF you have experience rebuilding carbs. Good Luck.
