  1. Hey folks. Just a quick update on the adventures of this little car. He seems to have the most ususual "carma" as oddly wonderful things continually happen to him. Long story short: He's in a movie. Short story long: I was approached last month by a car casting director about using my Tercel 4WD Wagon in a period piece set in the early 1980's. After we agreed on terms, they came to retrieve the car, and while at my home, spotted Boomeru, the little Subie. Well, he completely stole their attention, and essentially "All About Eve'd" the Tercel. We quickly drew up a new contract, and off went the Subaru. I'm not sure what movie or show this is, but I recognized the Director's name. Here are some recent photos, and one from set. Please enjoy, and I'll keep you posted when the little star car's acting debut is released. Hopefully this newfound fame won't all go to his head gasket! BT
  2. If only Long Beach wasn't suffering from our CA drought. That grass would've matched your car!
  3. First time I've ever seen a Subie in my rear view that's older than mine. Bravo, Mark!
  4. So nice to meet you, Mark. Your car is truly something special, and I enjoyed chatting with you. Best, BT trim.737D11D2-F4F8-46CA-8F87-504DE7D6A661.MOV
  5. It's so much fun to be reunited with this little car. It has such a quiet, benign charm. My favorite drive is up over Mulholland, and a stop to look at LA lights. Love this city, love this car.
  6. The shop is Strooties. He's always worked on (and often saved) all my quirky Japanese economy cars.
  7. Hey folks. Does anyone still have NOS parts for the following: Brown A/C Vent Cigarette Lighter Cluster Brown Interior Door Handle Bezels Black Carpet Kit Brown Full Dash (some cracks) Black aluminum headlamp / turn signal surrounds Thanks so much! BT
  8. He's here! Well, after more than a month, and a stop over at my mechanic down in San Diego, the little yellow boomerang Subaru is home again. He'll need some work to pass emissions, and it's been an interesting and expensive journey, but I love that the car has come back. Will be fun to spruce him back up again as well. Anyone with a trustworthy mechanic in Los Angeles that knows these cars, please do advise. Thanks all! BT
  9. Hey guys! Does anyone have a vintage Subie mechanic to reccommend in the LA area? My 78 Sedan as arrived, and will need some work to pass emissions. Thank you in advance! BT
  10. This is my favorite thread. Looking forward to seeing it come alive in the details!
