  2. hey there i dont know if anyone can help. have recently perchased a subaru vortex XT 89 model. (went hard, like a bullet:). one night while comming back from the footy it just died on me now the symptoms showed that of a blown head gasket but the mechanic sed it had full compression in each cylinder. he then went on to find that the timeing belt had slipped and some cog had snapped off, i had him replace it and when he went to start it it didnt go. he then thought it might be the distributer, nope not that either. there is enough spark in the cylinders for an effective ignition. the fuel pump is pumping plenty of injected fuel to the cylinders so the injectors are fine. he ses it has all the right things for it to run, but it wont... now i dont know if anyone has had the same problem if any one has any advice please feel free to reply this would be very much appreciated. Mike
