I'll see about opening. Hopefully I'll have off, period, but I doubt that's going to happen.....

But yeah, I'll see about working early or something.....

    Don't feel special, Tim! :D

Good news (or is it?) I may be working with you starting later this week or next week. I got offered the job and just have to take that drug test, then I'm all set. :headbang:

It's been a tough week. Right now I'm in Delaware for a funeral. My grandmother passed away on Tuesday and the funeral was yesterday (Saturday). It's early Sunday morning and I just can't sleep. It's been a rough year.....buried my other grandmother back in October. :(

I'll probably be back in Maryland either late tonight or tomorrow. Depending on what time I get in tonight or tomorrow, I'll stop in so I can pick up the paperwork for that drug test, then we'll talk. I'll be more than happy to help ya out if you're lookin' for a new car!

I'm gonna PM you my phone #. Just gimme a call.

  3. I'll be back down there soon. Our friends are on Basford Rd. right near that little 4H club or whatever it is on the corner.I need to finish some built-in bookshelves and some other work around their house....which was obviously built by some scumbag contractor.

Is Tim still at Autozone,do you know? I'm pretty sure he'll check in here when he sees "Frederick".

Yeah, I know Tim. I haven't seen either of his cars there in about a week. In fact, I don't know if he got rid of his 2.5RS. I've only seen his RX there as of late.

  4. YUP, I agree with that. When MY90 Legacy AWD LS wagon was brand new, I watched an Explorer fail to make it up a snow covered hill near my home at the time in northern NJ. (in 1990)

My Legacy just went up that hill, past the Explorer, like it was summertime. It was my first impression on AWD over the 4WD I had in my 85 Subaru wagon. I fell certain that would have gone up that will also as it had in the past, but the 85 would wag it's tail on the way up. The Legacy went straight up...no tail wagging....no slipping you could feel.

At one point the Outback actually had a higher ground clearance than the Explorer. :)

  5. So here's the deal...a guy I work with has a Forester (2004 5spd X). He wanted to spread out the cost of tire replacement so he went to the tire dealership and wanted to replace only the front tires because in his rotation, the fronts had the least amount of tread.

His plan was to work into a routine where he was only replacing two tires at a time instead of a full set of four (same brand and model of tire).

The tire store tech gave him some **** and bull story (I think it's bull) about how it's an all wheel drive car - you HAVE to replace all four tires at the same time because if you unbalance the system with difference in tread depth and traction you can destroy your AWD drivetrain!?

Make sense or is this worthy of a BS flag?

Nope, no BS. You really do have to replace all 4 tires at the same time or the AWD will be "unbalanced." By allowing this to happen you would wear out the AWD quite quickly.
