  1. Keep in mind that the orange marks are not lined up. They were there before I started working on the car.
  2. Thanks Matt, I actually took off the intake mani to double check to see if I had forgotten to connect something. I have quadruple checked all vacuum hoses including that one and still no go.
  3. OK, so my brother and I purchased a 97 OB 2.5 that we knew had a faulty headgasket. We dissasembled the engine and sent the heads to the machine shop. We picked up the heads that were decked within spec and installed them as well as a new headgasket set and followed the instructions in the haynes manual. Timed the engine perfectly with the lines on the new timing belt, and the marks on the sprockets. Turned it over manually to double check all of the marks on the cam sprockets and it looks perfect. Go to start and nothing... The car turns over, and over, and over. The only way to start it is to have WOT and even then it runs like ****. It rocks sideways like an epileptic. Even with the faulty headgasket(s) in the car it started fine.....I am a long time VW (mk1-mk4) guy and have turned a wrench quite a bit so I am not a noob by any means. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. When it is running it just sounds like its missing. If you go to the exhaust it sounds like something is way out of order and sputtering like a motorcycle. HELP!!! HELP!!!
