  1. Oh heck yeah. If I can get them for that price, it would be worth putting on both heads. My engine is one of those EA82 type. Computer huh? My oldest son works at the 800 lb gorilla. 8 yrs. Chuck Burien
  2. Thanks for the advise.. The car is a 1989 4 door non-station wagon. 5 spd. I really don't know which engine that would be. I'll start checking with Craigslist.
  3. Maybe I have the cracked head for asking but... recently my 1989 4wd GL had a cracked head (determined by local trustworthy subaru only shop). Now I am thinking with 287,000 miles would it be wise to put used heads on both sides? Would this be too much compression for the rings of the engine with that many miles? I love driving it but ....$$$$$ worth it? I had the sube shop put in a new clutch August 07, and a timing belt water pump etc. Jun 07.
  4. GD, thanks for the tip. I looked at the sending unit but could see no corrosion and the wires were on tight (looked ike solder). I then tried to find the same wire at the dash light(idiot) but there were different colored wires than the tand sending unit. What the H I'll just let it burn out. The fuel tank sending guage still works. Thanks GD Chuck
  5. there was a plastic film but only in the middle section which houses the "door open" indicator. It is a small 3" section of CLEAR plastic, so I guess it could be easily replaaced with a green film. Good idea for next time:headbang: I am going at the light again I am sure it will work. Later.
  6. Well, here's my sad sack story. I took apart the dash to try fnd why "fuel low" light stays on. Got the dash and everything back together again only the dash light for the speedometer and the "low' and "drive" light does not light up at all. When I was looking for the other problem I pulled out the light for these in the back of the dash. Does this break a circuit of some kind in a sube or did I put them in backwards?
  7. Awesome I will try that tomorrow. Thanks for now.
  8. Anybody ! Please All of a sudden my "low fuel" idiot light went on. The fuel "gauge" shows I have 1/2 tank. I even put more gas in the tank now at 3/4 but the darn idiot light stays on???? '89 DL SW, auto. Any ideas?
