  1. ShawnW- I tested the spark plugs by removing them and resting them upon the engine and trying to turn the engine over. The plugs are wet with gas, but all plugs fire. What are check engine codes?
  2. I have a 90 Legacy manual that won't start. Any ideas? Everyone who has tried to start the car has insisted that the engine isnt getting enough gas- I have traced the fuel line to the fuel injectors, cleaning the injectors with a brush, adding an entire container of Lucas cleaner, though the car is still not working. I have checked the spark plugs and one was melted- the ceramic end broken. While checking for spark while plugs were removed, gas shoots out one of the holes- possibly a faulty injector... Is this why the car doesnt start? Is the engine getting too much gas, and this has been the problem all along, even when there has been those of us looking in on the car that swear that the engine isnt getting any? The car has recently had trouble over heating. One day it just stopped while going 50 on the highway- and needed a battery charge to start. While starting there was significant rumbling, gringing under the hood. Checking the oil dipstick, finding very little oil- adding three quarts. Driving about 5 miles with this grinding at 20 mph as this is all the engine is willing to go- untill it started to overheat, then it wanted to race, but couldnt. This is the history of the problem. For some reason, after that 5 miles, the oil now reads as way too high. I was able to start the car for up to a minute if holding down the gas, but now it doesnt start at all. ANY IDEAS of what it could be?!!! Is it time to throw it away? Thank you for any comments! Need more clues? thank you...
