  1. Ok well I just pulled the old ea82t out for a BHG job and some head and block welding. As I was doing it I press on one of the pistons and it goes down about 1/4 of a inch. So I know it has rod knock, bad block, badheads and bad wiring so.... EJ22 TIME. There is this junkyard here thats called pick n pull and they have a ej22 for 89 bucks. It has a auto tho and I need stick. What is best ej22 to get and what tranny will handle some good power? Im talking 300+ hp. 6 Speed would be great but they cost 3k+. Will a 5 speed legacy tranny work or a wrx tranny? Also what is needed for a ej22 swap. Im planing on turboing it. Is it worth it to save and weight for the junkyard to get a ej22t? What diffrence in ej22t and ej22 as far as horsepower goes. The ea82t is out of a auto 86 xt BTW.

  2. Well I was replacing my HG's and well the block and head are #&*@ed up. The passenger side block and head have a bad chunk taken out of it. Its between the water jacket and the combustion chamber. Ill post pics later. Well thats why the HG's have been changed like 4 times before i bought the car. So I guess Im going to swap a EJ in with a 5 or 6 speed most likely only RWD. :headbang: Bad rump roast that I only have 100 bucks into the car.

  3. DO NOT USE SEAFOAM IN THE CRANKCASE. This will fire you rings in less than5 mins of driving it. I know becuase a freind of mine with a b16 tryed it he only has 30k on engine and rings leak 40% now. Also if it is seals then when you floor it it will not smoke like bad rings will. Bad rings smoke bad at WOT. I would check turbo seals and valve seals. Does it only smoke on cold startups then when you let it warm up and turn it off the restart smoke again or not as bad? Seafoam works great in brake booster only use 1/3 can and change oil right after as it will leak past when you let it sit for 5 mins before the restart.

  4. Yea I know xt6.net. I am a member. But do you have to unbolt the tranny to put the headgasket on with the engine in the car to like rock the engine forward? Also This set has alot of gaskets do you have a pic of this cam carrier o rings? Whats it called on the parts bin? Is it this? http://oem.thepartsbin.com/parts/thepartsbin/wizard.jsp?year=1986&make=SU&model=XT4-4WDT-001&category=A&part=Cam%20Support%20O-Ring&dp=false Mine kit came with those. My kit is the same as the Inshino kit has same parts but mine has a few more.

  5. I was told my subaru has had a headgasket change before by the stealership. But I dont think so...
