I assure you that my cutting torch and hammer comment were an attempt at humor. Only a certifiable MORON would cut on a brand new car. I was simply a little frustrated at the lack of more rugged tire selection. I mean with the ground clearance and awd the outback should have a more aggressive stock tire than the craptenza. I have only put 12K on them and they are noticibly worn. Before you guys pile on me about alignment it is uniform wear. I had to get a nail hole fixed and the guys at Les schwab said every thing looked good other than the nail hole.they said I may get another 10K. The STATE has hinted that awd may not be enough in the snow zones this year. The tires need to have the mountain/snowflake logo or chains may be required.

I am wondering , what subie model has the longest struts? Can I replace my 07 obw's with them to get some more wheel clearance? Or is a cutting torch and a sledge my answer

Hi all My name is Jeff and I hail from the lower bowels of the great NW. I drive a 2007 Outback basic. We seem to have more clay than dirt so I need a tire that can hold it's own in slop. I also cross the Infamous Siskiyou Pass nearly daily so the tire needs to be snow rated. I found general Grabber II's online but I am having trouble finding a local shop that carries them. We also go to the Eastern Oregon desert several time a year for hunting trips. Lots of dust, heavy brush rocks ect. is there any protection and recovery gear for my 07' outback. Finally, has anyone here installed a snorkle. Thanks
