  1. I did remember to put the rotor it and it is electronic not points. I have not gotten it to start with the new distributor in. The flywheel is the original and worked fine when we put the engine in 7 months ago. How do I know if it is TDC on the firing stroke? I did pull the NO. 1 plug out and check for TDC when I timed it. But I did not check to make sure if it was on the firing stroke. I don't know how to check for that. Thanks for replying.
  2. My 88 (by VIN) GL will crank but not start. It has a rebulit EA-81 engine, and rebuilt carb. It has new plugs, wires, and ignition coil. The distributor was going out (engine running rough) so I replaced it thinking that was the problem. It was running the day before then the next morning it would not start. The distributor is a nimpedeso and is a reman. I timed it using the fly wheel and lining up TDC on piston 1 with position 1 in the distributor cap. I thought it would at least try to start or sputter but it did nothing. I need help. I look forward to the replies and suggestions.
  3. I am having a very hard time starting my EA-81. It is a 1988 GL by vin but I use 86 parts. The engine, and carb have been rebuilt. There are new plugs, wires, ignition coil and a rebuilt nimpedeso (sp?) distributor. I have already timed it by using the fly wheel. I cannot start it. It went out over night as it was running before I replaced distributor (that was going out and causing the engine to run rough). I need help to get this running again. I suspect something in the ignition. thanks and I look forward to your suggestions and comments

  4. I am having a trouble with the acceleration, I just had the engine rebuilt, and the carb rebuilt too. I know that I am having vacuum line trouble, but it has run fine till today when it just started to choke, first at high speeds then at low then it didn't even start. I need some help in a bad way. could it be fuel related, if you know please let me know.
