  1. how much weight would i gain with the eg33 motor in an xt6 awd and would it be more worth it than just getting an svx? also can i find things such as performance cams, an aftermarket flywheel, & etc... to gain power in one of these-& would i be able to put a roots supercharger on it is i had a machinist buddy of mine adapt the intake to one?
  2. the thing i really like about the xt6 is its light weight-small design-and flat 6 engine coupled with awd, what would you recommend for me? it seems as if you are very familiar with subarus-i am looking into the svx but as heavy as it is, i cant see it being that fast with as little enginework, i am probably wrong tho, and if i am, please correct me. thanks, Jon
  3. tell me more about half the work and half the cost lol-how so?
  4. im looking to get an xt6 awd and set it up for racing and im kinda curious as to if i could use pistons out of another more readily available vehicle if i had the original sleeves removed-the block bored-and new sleeves installed. i figure i would need to know the size of the wrist pin that the stock pistons take, i know the stock pistons are 3.62" in diameter-but what is their height or whatnot (the other dimension that i will need to match up with another vehicles piston in order for this to work). also how much larger of a sleeve could i go and how large diameter of piston do you guys think i could fit?
  5. when someone talks about a dsm, they typically are talking about a 90's mitsubishi eclipse-eagle talon-or plymouth laser, all of which are pretty much the exact same car, but with small changes in appearence and rebadging, and some very small changes in the actual mechanics (very small changes). i had one and it was a fun car, gas mileage wasnt great and it needed worked on all the time, but there are all kinds of aftermarket parts made for them and they are nice looking cars.
  6. how is that a horrible vehicle? it was a very fun ride that looked nice and had tons of aftermarket parts produced for it, dohc and 16 valves, a lot more technically advanced than my current vehicle considering a difference of only 2 years. granted the damned thing needed worked on all the time... lol
  7. lol, i have a big ball of tinfoil as my oil cap, do you think that might be it? the previous owner did this and i just havent messed with it because it hasnt caused me any problems as far as i know. i figured being related to the crankcase itself and not an open spot directly in the intake system, that it didnt/doesnt make a difference. am i incorrect in this assumption?
  8. i owned a turbo dsm that i plugged off the egr & much of the emissions vac lines because they were unneccesary, and i will take this stuff into advisement tomorrow, for now, im hittin the sack.
  9. i dont buy it, ive owned many early 90's fuel injected cars that havent had nearly as many hoses as this thing does, they are running everywhere in places that i know i dont require them, like recirculating gasses that i could just let escape with a breather, there are far too many hoses for one measely injector to squirt, i understand a -few- of them may have to do with thinks such as the brake booster and timing advance (correct me if im wrong), but recirculating gasses to kiss the environments *** is none of my concern. i mean come on, theres like 40 flippin hoses, i can only see a purpose for like 10 of them max, when it comes to -needing- them for the computer to pulse the injector.
  10. how do i go about checking for leaks, i havent messed with vac lines much more than plugging them off or running new ones...
  11. then does anyone know how i would gut the emissions system and keep my spfi? i HATE all of the hoses & stupid emissions junk on late 80's cars, and considering its 2 decades old it cracks and clogs and goes bad & im just sick of looking at it and working around it.
  12. ok i understand im going to need to get a new lp fuel pump, the weber carb, a carb dizzy, the carb manifold, and im gonna need to remove most of the vac hoses. what hoses am i going to need to leave (i assume there will be one going from the dizzy to the carb, and a fuel line going to the carb, what else?) also, what do i do with the ecm? do i just remove it completely and the dizzy will function completely without it, and if so, where will i cut/"cap" it off at? how do i do whats asked above and is there anything else im missing?
  13. someone has misunderstood me-i get GOOD performance past 3000 rpms-but BAD in my low end. and it was running on 3 cylinders before i changed the plugs and distributer cap and now its running on all 4 but it feels like one or 2 of them is missing ever so slightly, what do i have to do to rotate the dizzy-take the cap off and rotate it or ??? also-ive been wanting to clean the injector but i have no idea where the injector is located as there is 50 freaking hoses running to my tb.
  14. im not talking stock carb, im talking a simplified carb setup in general.
