  1. Hi Thanks for the quick answer. Are there any other names for the XT6? Actually I just found out that Xt6 has been sold new in Norway, of course they didn't sell alot of them because it has a big engine (extremely high taxes on everything fun!) and because it's a subaru (wasn't that big in the 80s and 90s in Norway) Kit looks good, maybe I can fabricate something that works, if I cant get the kit of parts. berge06
  2. Hi Is it possible to do a 5-lug swap using only legacy or impreza parts? I want to know because i'm thinking of a complete ej swap with transmisson running gear , brakes (5-lug) and suspention to an old ea82 sedan (non turbo). The reason why I ask this is because Xt6's where never sold in Norway and I can't find any info saying that I can do the swap without Xt6 parts. I hope I'm not to confusing. berge06
  3. Hi thanks guys. What is needen to fit the 5speed transmissiojn from the impreza. It's a 94 impreza wagon with ej18 engine. berge06
  4. Thank you for your help. I think I will start by putting the ej18 in there and connect it to the old transmission. Is it true that the ej auto transmission from a 94 impreza fits between the ej18 and the brat driveshaft? I think i read that somewere. Anyway do you know anyone who has done it, who can tell me how fast it is compeard to like an impreza with the same engine or similar? thankyou berge06
  5. Hi I was thinking, I have acess to alot of ej18 parts and figured that I should fit one in my brat. How fast is a ej18 powerd brat, compared to other cars is it worth it or should I just fit a weber to my brat instead? The ea81 is running nicely. What do you think? bjornar
  6. Hi It's been a while, since my last thead, in the mean time I have written off my dads 94 impreza, and my brother bougth a 88 gl. My dad repladrives a brat these days. Anyway, my brother is probably going to sell his ae82 engined sedan, and i figured that I should buy it. the car is in grat shape, nearly no rust, it looks bad, but is realy good. an other thing is that when you push the 4wd button it get's noisy, I mean like a growling sound, not good? what's wrong with it? So my idea was: - buy the car, see if i bother to fix the 4wd problem. - Replce the ea82 with a ej engine (probably ej18) of some sort. I've also had an idea wich included four singel carbs, might be fun... berge06
  7. hello Well I can read it, and they convert standard zenith/ stormberg carbs from old volvos to be used in turbo applications by fitting a pressure box between turbo compressor side and carb. If it doesn't get enogh fuel, fit another carb! Crazy swedish people berge06
  8. Hi Talking about carbs and turbo. Vsit this swedish site http://www.savarturbo.se they are running 10 sec 1/4 mile and 200 kmh with an old volvo 144 with an old carbed volvo b20 engine with turbo of course. They convert standard volvo carbs to use with turbo applications, some also use weber carbs, i have seen twin 50mm webers pressurized with huge turbos. berge06
  9. Yes that is a good idea. I will indeed contact you when this project is started. In the meantime is the xt turbo(ea82) rear axle the same as on other ea cars, just found a cheap xt for sale, I've totally seen 5 for sale in Norway my entire life so they are rare and never xt6 only turbo. Could be a fun project. I alway have a few to many projects... berge06
  10. Sorry, just realized that after posting. berge06
  11. Thank you all for answering. So is Monstaru making a kit or something? So I need a 84 escort distributor and ignition stuff and some bad rump roast carb(s) and a manifold. Thanks
  12. Hi I was wondering if anyone ever carbed an ej engine. The reason to do this would be to either make more NA power or to make a transplant easier. Also I would like to know what type of ignition system would be easiest for such a convertion. I know it has been done, but have anyone made a guide? A 2,2 with webers in a brat sould be fun. berge 06
  13. Hi If I could use the impreza outer driveshaft joints on the ea driveshafts it wouldn't be that hard would it? Or using inner ea dirveshaft joints on impreza driveshafts. Is this possible to do or is it a custom job sorry about the last post, fast cars are expensive here, and uncommon. And of course if someone is buying an expensive car it's usually a bmw or something. berge06
