  1. i would like to install fog lights base model 2.0 2017 impreza i guess my question relies on the price and quality, i like the directional steering option, but is that neccesary, and why does the stock option come with a throw away plastic cover???
  2. Does the rear axle on my 2006 outback just slide out of the differential, or is there a pin the needs to be punch out??? Im removing the axle from a parts car and i dont have anything to punch out the pins, ive never done the rear, only the fronts, the hard way of drilling them out. ????
  3. What kind of knock? Does it change with speed, cv axles are easy to diagnose. Check the boots, the click upon turning. subaru are known for leaking engines. My current 2006 leaks oil which drips onto the catalyst thus burning, i have to set my heater onto recirculate otherwise i can smell it, my 1996 also suffered this problem. Axle grease burning is a far more wretched smell. Calm down on replacing the whole "rear end" Could be wheel bearing or brake caliper What kind of noise and when and how??
  4. In the link fairtax supplied, the technition mikeV explains it's an empty connector that would have something to do with tire pressure. This particular year was not equipped with that option. This empty connector is located in a prime spot for corrosion, it sits under a heating duct on the floor, if anything is spilled on the front corner of the drivers seat it's going to find this open connector
  5. That hole was there, looks like the heater ducting a place to emerge from under the carpet
  6. YES, FIXED no more flashing ACC light in the instrument display and no more power drain you can see the corrosion
  7. Ok, I've found no green wire with yellow stripe. There is no empty connectors under the drivers seat. I'm going to check the old seat to see if any thing is different.
  8. After changing my seats and carpet on my 2006 outback The clocks display flashes ACC and then a solid ERR only when the car is off normal function when it's on
  9. Found some used carpet in much better shape Changed the seats, carpet , and now I might do the door panels But now when the car is OFF the clock blinks "ACC" repeatedly then "ERR" once I forgot to disconnect the battery before taking the seats out Anyone one know what this means???
  10. I would like to replace my carpet in my 2006 outback 172,000 miles The fitted carpets are too pricey Just wondering if anyone has any tips on type of carpets I could use, and techniques I'm not looking for a factory finish, just fresh shag I replaced the carpet on a van I had years ago It was a cinch, cut to fit, spray adhesive, molded nicely, not as many contours as my car Any thoughts appreciated
  11. i'm looking to purchase a newer subaru from the dealership i'm partial to a 5-speed so its limited my self to about 3 cars 2005 legacy wagon 80,000 miles $9,000 2006 outback 110,000 miles $8,000 2005 outback sport 130,000 miles $7,950 now i really like the legacy wagon, but they gave me vehicle history report and a photo-copied piece of paper with written description of what has been replaced and when.??? i already dont like it says that in aug 2011 timing belt, headgaskets were replaced, but looking at the vehicle history report, aug 2011 this car only had 66,000 miles on it???? WTF looking at the headgaskets i can see they are a multi-layer metal gasket, but i dont know what the factory gasket is suppose to look like???
  12. I had the transmission swapped to a manual 70,000 miles ago. So if I change the engine to 2.2, the 2.5 auto computer will still work???
