  1. oh boy. Well, thank you for all your help, Crash321. I wish i didnt have to bring it back but I love my car, and I dont want to die driving it. Nice to meet you by the way. This is my very first time posting ... anything. Thanks again. MF
  2. the looseness and noise are definitely present because of something that went on while it was at the mechanic. I whole-heartedly believe that something has not been put back proper or is missing all together. What that part is - thats up for debate. Thats why I'm here. I dont know if it's a spring, a bushing, the welding that they did.. I really dont know.
  3. Awesome. They did remove the trans. It was not loose before at all. In fact it was grinding in reverse and barely shifting into 1st. thats why the fork was replaced. I was wondering if it had something to do with "welding a new exhaust flange on the Y-Pipe" I don't even know what y-pipe is.
  4. I will absolutely bring the car back. I was just hoping that the noise/looseness sounded familiar to someone and was something simple - not indicative of a serious malfunction. Thank You for all your help
  5. ohh i'm sorry. I have a 1998 subaru Legacy 5 speed. 141,294 miles on it.
  6. I just had my clutch fork, which was cracked replaced. My mechanic also welded a new exhaust flange on the y-pipe. It runs beautifully, but now my stick makes a vibrating noise - mostly in 5th but also in 3rd. Also the stick is very very loose. Do I need to bring my car back a 3rd time - or is the noise and the looseness something that can be adjusted simply and perhaps by me or my husband? Thanks
