  1. I have been a sometime poster since 2004 (blubaru86) & I thought I should say a quick hello since I've changed my name and come back. Mine is a 3rd generation Subaru family, from age 17 to 30 I had 6 or more GL's and somehow it got away from me for a brief period. For a couple of years I had an 01 OBW Limited, but I didn't feel like it was a true subaru (sorry, I cut my teeth on rusty, carbed 86 d/r glw's). There was almost a year where I didn't own a Subaru at all! Now my wife and I have returned to the Pennsylvania winters and I have jumped back into the "newer generation of Subarus" with a 97 Legacy L 5sp that I bought yesterday as my daily driver. I have also returned to the vast family stockpile of EA82 parts and bodies, so I hope to build up some kind of off-roader. I am also going to do a EJ22 conversion my 85 VW westfalia sometime in the (hopefully)near future. The USMB has saved me many times, so hello again and Thanks! -Scott
  2. hello all, I just bought a 97 Legacy L 5sp and I am trying to pin down this interference issue. ( I pick it up in a couple days, so I can't inspect the engine or date of manufacture yet.) I was looking up timing belt kits on ebay and they all seem to make a distinction between 1990-2/97 and 3/97+ Is this an " I vs. non-I" difference? Or just a different design? Thanks, Scott
