  1. That would be excellent dude. I live in the boonies so it's fine. Could you post up a few pics of your set-up?
  2. Haha no, i'm in Idaho, about 20 miles from Boise. Just to clarify everything, 1986 Subaru Gl 1.8 Hitachi Carb'd 5 speed Dual Range 4wd. I think i got the wrong carb or something, because this one was from an '87 and it has a few more hose connections that are blue on the backside, so i'm just going to throw on my old one and live with the idle. When i first tried to fire it with those extra connections open, it spat coolant everywhere. I'm thinking that's not too good.
  3. it's an 86 1.8. Yes it does have the diagram but it really doesn't make sense to me.
  4. I was putting in a new carb today and got totally confused on where the vacuum lines go. Does anyone have any ideas or pictures?
  5. I cleaned the carb out and poked around it for a bit today but I couldn't find anything so I'm going to take it to our local subaru specialty shop and see if they can find anything. Also, how much do you think it would cost to straight-pipe it? The exhaust has some nasty leaks and I don't care about the noise.
  6. Yeah it's carb'd... I messed around with the idler screw and it kept wanting to die, so i moved it back up to 2000 rpm. I gotta go to work but i'll try carb cleaner later. Thanks for the help.
  7. I'm finally glad I found a good forum! Here's the story: I picked up a 1986 GL 1.8 4x4 for 400 bucks this past weekend. 236000 miles but it runs great, all except for it has a ridiculous idle. When you first start it up cold, it's at 4000 rpm and after it warms up it's at 2000-3000. Any ideas? :-\
