  1. Does anyone know if the ecu & the gauge use seperate coolant temp sensors? The stock temp sensor on the thermostat housing has been replaced with the autometer one for quite a while. Recently, code 21 shows up on the ecu (temp sensor or ciruit). I installed a stock sensor. Now it runs better, but it still shows the same code. Any ideas? Thanks.
  2. Could it be a bad coolant temp sensor? It has an aftermarkit temp guage that seems to read ok.
  3. i have an 87 rx. it runs great when the CEL is on. after it warms up the CEL turns off and it runs poorly. it barely idles, stumbles when the accelerator is pushed, seems to miss, and seems to run smoother above 3k rpm. any suggestions?
  4. The thing I broke does not look like the sensor pictured. It does not have that vent. Would that be the evap solenoid that is referenced on the web link?
  5. Thanks for the input. I went to the dealership and discovered the outrageous price. So I decided to epoxy it back together. The sube started right up and ran great:banana:, although the cel was on, code 21. I cruised the neighborhood to warm it up, which allow the code to turn off. Now it runs horrible. It stumbles on acceleration, though high rpm's seem ok. It barely starts. Could this be that sensor or some other problem?
  6. I have an 87 rx, and I broke the hose barb off of ???? sensor. the vacuum hose connects to the intake, pre turbo. two wires and bolts to the engine. Anyone know what it is and where it can be found? thnx.
