  1. Torque sequence for cylinder heads. I have the pattern, but I know there must be a crush procedure for tightening these ?
  2. Thanks. I am just waiting on my head gaskets to arrive. dealer had to order them.
  3. Thanks. Heads are off and valves are bent, so we did have it timed correctly after all.
  4. Pulled old heads and yes valves are bent. Pistons and bores look good. Transferred old sprockets to new heads and will put back together next week. What a job getting those heads off. WOW.
  5. Can the crank be 180 out on the cams after a timing belt breaks? Just read that crank has to turn twice once for compression and once for exhaust but cams only turn once. How will I know that the timing is set right ?
  6. So line the mark up with the oil pump mark to set timing ? Or use the triangle aligned with the oil pump mark to find TDC on # 1 ?
  7. Going to double check belt and alignment his weekend and do compression test. If no good then heads are coming off.
  8. There is. I beleive it is undwer the passengers seat. Thing goes off just sitting in a prking lot. Previous owner said it went off sitting in traffic before.
  9. DFound two nice used heads with 60k miles for $174 including freight. Just in case.
  10. MY 1999 Foreseter has the factory installed security system and it just goes off. No rhyme or reason. Can be a mile from nothng and it goes off.
  11. If timing is off and I do a compression test wil it not be messed up ? How do I ensure a good test ?
  12. I lined them up on each cam and the crank. Now I am second guessing the crank. Anyone have a photo of how all three line up, especially the crank ?
  13. Sorry fror leaving my locale out. Trying to set his up with kids running around. Very small budget. What should valve work cost ? Or better to buy used heads if needed ?
  14. Thanks for all the info. Tried End Wrench and followed the info. Guess it is time to pull the heads.
