  1. Ok so i'm new to the forums here, but i've got a sweet '87 brat that i love dearly. However it turns out that it needs a new clutch. I'm generally mechanically proficient, but haven't turned that towards cars much. The estimate i got for a new clutch would be 600-700 dollars. I must say i'm tempted to do the work myself. Is that a hard repair to do? Or should i just fork over the cash?! Also my mechanic mentioned that if the clutch needed to be "Resurfaced" it would be more towards the 700 dollars, than the 6. What does that mean, and how would i know if i had to get that done? Thanks everyone!
  2. Well i'm glad to know they're around! If i find one online that i suspect to be a gen2 what should i ask about to confirm it's the right size?
  3. Hey there everyone, new to the forums here. I've got a lovely '87 Brat and a Gen 2 flat topper, but I'm fiending for a sweet tall topper or camper style topper. I'm in the market for jump seats, and want to be able to have those guys in there full time. Or at least be able to carry a larger load than the Gen 2 topper allows. I saw this: http://www.indysworld.com/80s/brats/toppers/gen2-jeraco-window-2.jpg which puts it in the Gen 2 section on Subarus of the 80's and was wondering what that is called and how to track one down! Plus, how can I tell if a topper is gen 2 or gen 1 so i don't make some ridiculous trip and wind up with something that doesn't fit... Quiero Topper! Avery
